In a significant operation, security forces in the Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir have uncovered a large cache of weapons intended for combat use. This information was disclosed by the army on Sunday.
A military official indicated that the operation was initiated early Sunday morning based on specific intelligence regarding the presence of arms in the Kotnala area of northern Kashmir.
During the search, the forces recovered a variety of weapons, including a pistol manufactured in China, four under-barrel grenade launchers produced in Pakistan, four Chinese grenades, a magazine for a sniper rifle, 26 rounds for the sniper, a magazine for an AK-47, 144 rounds for the AK-47, a bag, and pamphlets printed in Chinese. The official noted that the search operation is still ongoing.
